In late March 2003, my wife and I visited a number of Florida nudist resorts. In this report to you, I’ll tell you about the resorts. Each one has a different flavor and appeal.

Florida's Nude Beaches - Looking for your first nude experience? We recommend on of these nudist resorts, not a nude beach.

We started off in the Tampa Bay area which has a high concentration of nudist resorts. In fact, you could call Tampa Bay the capital of nudist resorts in the United States. Here's a brief rundown on the resorts we visited.

Lake Como Family Nudist Resort - a rustic setting on the shores of a 35 acre lake. Cottages and motel units dot the property. There are RV spaces and tent sites. The swimming pool and spa are first class. A restaurant and bar keep you fed and hydrated. Every March the resort hosts the Volley Ball Super Bowl South. Visiting here is total escape from the 21st century.

Caliente Nudist Resort is just a few miles north of Lake Como. Caliente represents the future of nude recreation and nude communities. The very artistic and beautiful entrance sign for Caliente tells you that you are approaching a place with class. From the air you'd see about 100 acres with several small lakes and a mixture of open space and buildings dotting the shoreline. There's a two mile walking path that meanders around the shorelines. The northeastern section of the resort contains an awesome play area. This is where you find the social pool, tennis courts, volleyball pools, Petanque courts, sand volleyball courts, hot tub, and the very cool Si Como No? lakeside bar.

Paradise Lakes is adjacent to Lake Como Family Nudist Resort and yet totally different. For starters, Paradise Lakes is clothing optional. That means that if you’re not sure you want the nude recreation experience, you can choose to wear clothes or a bathing suit while visiting the resort. We describe Paradise Lakes as providing a European urban style nude recreation experience complete with multiple pools and tennis courts. The resort is upbeat, has an excellent restaurant and a great nightclub called L’Attitudes.

The Gulf Coast Nudist Resort is about 40 miles north of the Tampa Airport and only several miles from Hudson Beach. Though offering several cottages for overnight use, the Gulf Coast Resort is primarily an RV resort. The atmosphere here is rustic and friendly. People who stay here enjoy the swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts and volleyball. But most of all they like the friendly and neighborly atmosphere.

The Island Group doesn't quite fit in with our definition of a resort. It's a day use club for members only. However, non-members may visit on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. You'll find it just north of Paradise Lakes off Dupree Drive. "The Island" is a man-made 3 acre island surrounded by a private canal enclosed by tall moss-covered Cypress Trees, Maples, Pines and other abundant plants making "The Island" a natural retreat.

Orlando Area Nudist Resorts

Cypress Cove Nudist Resort and Spa is one of the finest nudist resorts in the world. The description from their web site sums it up. "Bask in the sun on our sandy beach. Relax in the shade of a magnificent oak or tall cypress. In this setting of natural Florida beauty and tranquility, you’ll find it easier than ever before to put aside the worries and cares of the everyday world. Crystal clear pools and whirlpool spas are only but a few of the facilities. Enjoy tennis, petanque and golf. Pamper yourself with a massage or a visit to the hair & nail salon. Dine at the Lakeside Restaurant and Lounge or Cheeks Bar & Grill. Cypress Cove has all the amenities a clothes free resort should have. And, since we're located in the heart of Central Florida, you are minutes from area attractions."

Sunny Sands Nudist Resort is a little over an hour north of Orlando and 30 minutes west of Daytona Beach. It can best be summed up as a lovely swimming pool and hot tub amidst the forest. There are units to rent, RV spaces and campsites. This is a great place for people who want to be surrounded by natural beauty in a rural area.

Other Florida Nudist Resorts
Sunsport Gardens - Loxahatchee, Florida - sub-tropical family resort 20 minutes west of Palm Beach. This is a beautiful place for your first nude camping experience or for the lifelong nudist. We feature rental accommodations, full hookup sites for recreational vehicles and campsites for tents. The facilities of our family nudist / naturist resort are open to everyone. Our member board, management and owners are made up of a diverse group of individuals, who collectively pursue their dream to make Sunsport Gardens a haven for the Nudist / Naturist. It could be your place to come too relax, or play sport on the weekend. Bring yourself, bring your family, bring a friend. Even if it is your first visit to a nudist resort, you will soon relax and find your place in the sun, lounging, playing tennis or volleyball, swimming, socializing, or communing with nature in our butterfly garden, Sun-Spirit Grove, or the nature trail. We have a DJ dance every Saturday evening from November through March, with many other events throughout the year. Sunsport Gardens has been here for 38 years, and we are waiting for you to visit.

Sunburst Nudist Resort is located in the rolling hills of the Florida Panhandle and less that an hour's drive to the Gulf of Mexico. There are 2 swimming pools (one is heated), a hot tub, lighted tennis and volleyball courts, horseshoes, and a game room with video games, billiards and table tennis. The clubhouse features a wide screen cable television, comfortable sofas, chairs, and tables for cards, boardgames, and puzzles. You have a choice of a rental unit, RV space or tent site.

Riviera Naturist RV Resort is located on Florida's Emerald Coast. It's for RV's and tent camping. Outdoor recreational facilities include a swimming - water volleyball pool, hot tub, horseshoes and petanque courts. The clubhouse has cable TV and a telephone hookup for computers.

Sunnier Palms Nudist RV Resort, near Fort Pierce, is just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. They offer full service hookups, shaded tent camping, and beautiful wilderness camping in the forest. The 12 acres of natural pine forest surrounded by canals and citrus groves makes this a unique place.

Sunny Oaks Haven Nudist Ranch/RV Park is only about one mile from the Suwannee River located about 20 miles west of I-75 and about 8 miles off I-10. Play volleyball, darts, horse shoes, petanque and croquet, sing karaoke, relax in the sun or in the pool. Take a nature walk along the trails throughout the 46 acres. R.V. sites have full hookups, tenting areas with water/elec., bathroom and hot shower facilities.

Hidden River RV Nudist Resort is clothing optional and is located 30 miles west of Jacksonville on the Georgia- Florida border. The Nudie Blues Festival is held here in April. There are RV hookups with a dump station available and unlimited tent camping in complete privacy. Pets, including horses,are welcome here.

These are non-landed clubs. They meet at people's homes and go on trips together.
